Flowers For Our Grandmothers
The Flowers For Our Grandmother project was a collaboration between Gabrielle Burton-Hill, Francois Deschamps, and The Collektiv. It’s a celebration of twelve African-American Grandmothers in the Newburgh, NY community. The project consists of three elements: the photo book, the audio recordings, and a gallery event at Safe Harbors Cornerstone Lobby.
The FFOG project is the brain child of Gabrielle, a long time Newburgh resident. The photo book is designed and edited by Francois. And the audio recording and editing was done by The Collektiv. The event is the work of all three in concert.
The gallery opening happened Sept. 28th-29th during Newburgh Open Studios, 2024.
